THE COURSE
A mile is more than 5,280 feet—and The Crenshaw Mile is more than a road race.
Beginning just a block from Nipsey Hussle Square on Slauson Avenue, the Mile is a point to point race down Crenshaw Boulevard, with every step bringing you closer to the finish line in the heart of Leimert Park Village. After a level start, the course dips gently into a gradual downhill as it heads to the halfway mark at the epic panorama of The Great Wall of Crenshaw mural and past the cheer zone at James Beard-winning Dulan’s restaurant before a final flight to the finish just a few blocks away. With a net elevation loss of 44 feet on this USATF sanctioned course, The Crenshaw Mile is the perfect set up for your personal best, competition for age group awards, and peak performances for cash prizes in the elite invitational field. Or, if you’d rather savor the moment, spend time in the energy and ambiance of South Los Angeles as you pass by some of the neighborhood’s iconic landmarks.
